Find the right video talent to turn your footage into content worth watching

From a single explainer animation to an ongoing content pipeline, we match Swiss and EU businesses with pre-vetted freelance video talent globally. Every editor, designer and producer works remotely, is experienced in your format, and is covered by a single Swiss contract from day one.

Video Editing

Assembly, pacing, colour and sound for brand films, interviews, webinars and campaign content. The craft that turns raw footage into something people watch to the end.

Motion Graphics

Animated titles, lower thirds, transitions and brand elements that make a finished piece look like it came from a company rather than a template.

2D & 3D Animation

Explainer animations, product visualisations and character work for businesses with nothing physical to film.

Video Production Management

Producers who run the process remotely: scoping, scheduling, briefing contributors, managing revisions and keeping delivery on track.

Social & Short-Form Video

Vertical cuts, captions and platform-native edits for LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok, made for how people actually watch on each one.

Corporate & Brand Video

Internal comms, recruitment films, investor updates and brand stories, edited to a professional standard from footage you already have.

Subtitling & Localisation

Subtitles, captions and language versions, essential in a Swiss market where the same video often needs to work in three languages.

Urgent & ASAP Roles

Pre-vetted video talent for a launch deadline, an event turnaround or unexpected cover. Placement in days, not weeks.

Temporary & Project Roles

Cover a campaign, a product launch or a content push. Video support that scales up and back on demand.

What is a freelance video talent?

A freelance video editor takes raw footage, graphics and audio and assembles them into a finished piece that holds attention and says what it needs to say. The work covers cutting and pacing, colour correction, sound mixing, adding graphics and titles, and exporting versions suited to wherever the video will be seen.

The title covers more ground than it used to. Most freelance video professionals now work across several related disciplines: a motion designer who animates brand elements and builds explainers, an editor who also handles subtitles and platform versions, a producer who manages the whole process remotely without ever being on set.

That matters for how you hire. The question is rarely “do I need an editor”, it is what kind of video work you need and which of these skills it actually draws on. Our video talent is remote, which suits post-production, animation and production management, where the work happens on a timeline rather than on location.

Why hire freelance video talent?

Video is the format most businesses know they should be producing and most quietly avoid, because the gap between filming something and publishing something worth watching is wider than it looks. Footage sits on a drive, a half-edited cut goes round the team for three weeks, and the campaign it was meant for has already gone out.

An experienced editor closes that gap. They work to a deadline rather than around one, they know what to cut rather than what to keep, and they produce the same piece in the four versions you actually need instead of one that fits nowhere properly.

It is also one of the clearest cases for hiring freelance. Video demand comes in bursts, around launches, events and campaigns, and very few businesses have enough of it year-round to justify someone in-house.

The benefits of outsourcing video

Outsourcing video work to experienced freelancers gives you production quality at a fraction of the cost of an in-house team or a production agency, on exactly the scale your content calendar justifies.

Industries we help with video talent matching

From a single scaling startup to a multi-site enterprise, we match video talent to how your sector actually uses it. Every editor and designer we place already understands the formats, pace and compliance expectations your industry works to.

E-commerce & Retail

Product videos, social cuts and seasonal campaign content, produced at the volume an online store actually needs rather than one hero film a year.

SaaS & Technology

Product demos, onboarding walkthroughs, feature explainers and screen-based content that makes software make sense.

Events & Conferences

Post-event edits, speaker highlights, promotional cutdowns and the quick turnaround an event cycle demands.

Finance & Insurance

Explainer animations for complex products, client communications and compliance-aware content for regulated environments.

Health & Wellness

Patient education, treatment explainers and practice introductions, edited with the sensitivity the subject matter needs.

Professional Services & Consulting

Thought leadership, webinar edits and partner profiles that carry authority without looking like a corporate video from 2012.

Non-Profits & Charities

Campaign films, impact stories and donor updates, edited to move people on a budget that has to stretch.

Hospitality & Tourism

Destination and property content, seasonal campaigns and multilingual versions for Swiss and international audiences.

Real Estate & Property

Property walkthroughs, development animations and market update content edited from footage and renders you supply.

Education & E-Learning

Course content, lecture edits, animated modules and the subtitling that makes learning material accessible.

Manufacturing & Industrial

Process animations, technical explainers and safety content that makes complex operations clear without a film crew on site.

Sole Traders & Freelancers

Straightforward editing for individuals building a presence, without the cost of an agency or the time of doing it yourself.

Startups & Scaling Businesses

Pitch videos, launch content and investor updates, produced quickly enough to keep up with how fast things change.

Transportation & Logistics

Network and route animations, service explainers and recruitment content for a sector that is hard to film and easy to animate.

Marketing & PR Agencies

White-label editing and motion design, overflow capacity during campaign peaks, and specialist formats without permanent overhead.

Video FAQs

The usual sign is footage you have not used. Interviews recorded at an event, product shots, webinar recordings and screen captures sitting on a drive because nobody has the time or software to turn them into anything. Another is video that goes out looking noticeably less polished than your written material. And a third is timing: if your video consistently arrives after the campaign it was meant to support, that is a capacity problem rather than a skill problem, and it is the easiest of the three to fix.

Our video talent works on an hourly basis, from CHF 60 to CHF 100 per hour, depending on experience and specialism. Motion designers and animators generally sit at the upper end, straightforward editing at the lower.

What you spend each month depends entirely on your scope. A single explainer animation is a very different brief to an ongoing content pipeline producing weekly social cuts. No recruitment fees, no upfront costs, one rate, one Swiss invoice. See the full pricing guide on our Pricing page.

Our video talent covers the full post-production and remote production spread including:

  • Video editing for brand films, interviews, webinars and campaigns
  • Motion graphics, titles and animated brand elements
  • 2D and 3D animation and explainer videos
  • Remote video production management and scheduling
  • Short-form and vertical edits for social platforms
  • Colour grading and sound mixing
  • Subtitling, captioning and language versions
  • Screen recording and product demo editing
  • Repurposing long-form content into multiple cuts

Note that our video talent is remote, so we cover post-production, animation and production management rather than on-location camera work. Need something specific to your format or software? Tell us at briefing and we’ll source for it.

Our video talent are freelance professionals, but your commercial contract is with Houston & Ko, an established Swiss GmbH, so all of your video support sits under a single, robust Swiss agreement. You deal with us; we handle the legal setup, compliance and invoicing.

As much or as little as you need. Common setups include:

  • A one-off project for a single film, animation or explainer
  • A few days a month to turn existing footage into regular content
  • Ongoing support for businesses publishing video weekly
  • Full-time cover during a campaign, launch or event season

Hourly rates or packages scale up or down at any time, with none of the constraints of a permanent contract or an agency retainer.

Our founders work with you directly to define the role, then match you with candidates from our pre-vetted pool, only the 14% who pass full screening. To find the best fit, be clear on:

  • The type of video you need: editing, motion graphics, animation or production management
  • The software your existing project files are in, if any
  • Where the video will be published and in which formats
  • Your languages, since Swiss content often needs three versions
  • Whether this is a one-off piece or an ongoing pipeline

Their showreel tells you what they can make. These questions tell you what they are like to work with:

  • “Walk me through a project where the brief changed halfway. What did you do?”
  • “How do you handle feedback from several people who disagree with each other?”
  • “What do you need from us to do this well?”
  • “How many rounds of revisions do you usually expect?”
  • “Show me something you edited from footage you did not shoot.”

That last one matters most here. A reel full of work they also filmed does not tell you how good they are at rescuing footage someone else handed them, which is the job most of the time.

1. Define the output, not the role. “We need forty short social cuts from twelve hours of conference footage” gets you the right person. “We need a video editor” does not.

2. Judge the showreel on the work closest to yours. A beautiful travel film says very little about whether someone can make a software demo watchable. Look for the format you actually need.

3. Check the software matches. If your existing project files are in Premiere, someone who works exclusively in Final Cut starts from nothing. Ask before you shortlist.

4. Agree revision rounds up front. More freelance video relationships break down over endless feedback loops than over quality. Set the number at the start and both sides relax.

5. Work with a specialist recruitment partner. If you want to skip the sourcing, screening and reel-sifting, working with Houston & Ko gives you access to pre-vetted freelance video talent, placed within 7 days, under a single Swiss contract with no minimum commitment. Contact us today.
