What does remote event support actually look like?
Remote event support covers everything that has to happen before, during and after an event, but does not need someone standing in the room. Months ahead, your event manager builds the plan, coordinates suppliers and speakers and runs registration. In the weeks before, they prepare the marketing, presentations and participant agendas. On the day, they handle live social media, attendee communications and virtual audiences. Afterwards, they send the follow-up, collect feedback and report on results.
We have coordinated participant agendas for major international events such as WEF and COP, prepared marketing materials and presentations for industry events and roadshows, and placed social media managers who cover events live. For the design side, our graphic designers can join the team, and for ongoing admin around your events, our remote assistants can help.
What we do not provide: on-site crew such as ushers, registration desk staff or waiters, catering, security or physical AV equipment. For those, you will need a local event agency or venue partner, and our event managers can coordinate them for you.

Why outsource your event support to remote freelancers?
Most businesses run a handful of events a year. Each one needs serious coordination for a few weeks or months, then nothing until the next one. Hiring a full-time event manager for that pattern is expensive, and handing it to your existing team means their real work stops while they chase suppliers and update spreadsheets.
Outsourcing to remote freelancers solves both problems. You get experienced event teams when you need them, with the right specialist for each part of the job, and you scale back as soon as the event is over. For international and multilingual events, a global talent pool also means people who speak your attendees’ languages and work in their time zones.
The benefits of outsourcing event support
Outsourcing your event support gives you experienced event staff at a fraction of the cost of an in-house team, and only for as long as each event needs them.
Lower cost than a permanent in-house event team
The right specialist for each event and each phase
Scale up for a summit, scale back down afterwards
Global talent for multilingual, international events
One simple Swiss contract covers all your support
No employment overhead or minimum commitment

We only place remote professionals, so we do not provide on-site event staff. That means no ushers, hosts, registration desk staff, waiters or bar staff, no catering, no security and no physical AV equipment or technicians.
For those, we recommend a local event staffing agency or your venue’s own partners. Our event managers are used to briefing and coordinating on-site teams remotely, so they can manage those suppliers for you.
Our event managers work on an hourly basis, from CHF 60 to CHF 100 per hour, depending on experience and the complexity of the event. Large international conferences and multilingual events usually sit at the upper end.
What you spend depends on the event. Coordinating suppliers for a one-day product launch is a very different scope to managing participant agendas for an international summit. No recruitment fees, no upfront costs, one rate, one Swiss invoice. See the full pricing guide on our Pricing page.
Our event managers are self-employed professionals, not employees, but your commercial contract is with Houston & Ko, an established Swiss GmbH, so all of your event support sits under a single, robust Swiss agreement. You deal with us; we handle the legal setup, compliance and invoicing.
As much or as little as your event needs. Common setups include:
- Pre-event planning, from a few hours a week months ahead to full-time in the final weeks
- Live support during the event, such as social media coverage or virtual audience management
- Post-event follow-up, surveys and reporting
- Ongoing support for businesses that run events throughout the year
Our event teams work across time zones, so evening and weekend cover around an event can be arranged. Hourly rates or event packages scale up or down at any time, with none of the constraints of a permanent contract.
Yes. Every event manager can sign a non-disclosure agreement before they see any event details, and confidentiality is part of our standard terms. Our event teams are used to handling attendee lists, VIP schedules and personal data with care, in line with Swiss and EU data protection rules. Tell us at briefing if your event has specific security or confidentiality requirements and we’ll match you with someone who has worked under them before.
Our founders work with you directly to define the role, then match you with candidates from our pre-vetted pool, only the 14% who pass full screening. To get the best fit, be clear on:
- The type, size and date of your event
- Which phases you need help with: planning, live coverage, follow-up or all three
- Whether the event is in person, virtual or hybrid
- The languages your attendees, speakers and suppliers use
- Who the event manager will work with internally and which tools you use
